| Eroglu Meets Gul |

BAYRAK RADIO TELEVISION 05/03/10 Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu meets with Turkish President Abdullah Gul in Ankara. The Prime Minister held discussions with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday. Mr Eroglu told BRT correspondent in Ankara that he discussed the Cyprus negotiation process, the TRNC Presidential elections and economic issues, including the state of the Cyprus Turkish Airlines and the damage caused by recent flood disaster in the country. The Prime Minister also held separate discussions with Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and the Minister of State – Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis for talks with EU. Speaking after his meeting with Bagis, Prime Minister Eroglu said that the policies being followed at the Cyprus talks are being formulated together with Turkey. For his part, Mr Bagis welcomed the support Mr Eroglu voiced to Turkey’s EU Membership process. Later, Prime Minister Eroglu came together with members of the Association of Diplomacy Correspondents at dinner. Responding to journalists’ questions at the event, Mr Eroglu repeated that the Cyprus negotiation process will continue and that he will first bring the issues of guarantees, property and territory to the table if he wins the Presidential elections. `What is important is not whether it will be a federation or a confederation, but how it will be shaped` he said, adding that political will is needed in order to bring a solution to the Cyprus problem. |
