President Mehmet Ali Talat and Greek Cypriot Leader Dimitris Christofias have met again to continue their talks with the aim of settling the Cyprus problem.
In a short statement at the end of the meeting, the UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus Alexander Downer said that the two leaders held further discussions on the topic of EU Matters.

The UN Envoy said that the two leaders continued their discussions on the chapter of EU matters, adding that their senior aides will meet again on Friday to hold more talks on the issue.

He said that the next meeting between the leaders will be held on the 30th of March, when a break will be given to the talks because of the TRNC Presidential elections.

Responding to a question whether an announcement will be made at the end of that meeting, the envoy said `there is no clarity over that`.

Meanwhile, speaking on his return to the presidential palace, President Talat said that it is possible to issue a joint declaration at the end of the last meeting to be held on the 30th of March if they reach to an intended point.

He also added that they did not discuss the issue of economy today as the Greek Cypriot Side’s committee on economy did not attend the meeting.
